About Our Fish
MòR Atlantic Trout is a Steelhead Trout, the rainbow that migrates to the sea where it grows bigger and silvery to camouflage in ocean water.
The powerful currents filtering through the inner Hebrides from the Atlantic make our trout athletic; firm and clean tasting, of exceptional quality and outstanding taste.
Our fish are from our own unique breeding programme, naturally selected to thrive in our local waters and grown with the highest welfare standards and award-winning husbandry.
About Our Family
The Cannon Family have farmed trout on the Scottish Atlantic Coast since 1972, when Stuart Cannon pioneered putting trout into freshwater lochs and established Kames Fish Farming, fuelled by a passion for the fish and a profound love of the West Coast.
We are the sole family-run, independent farm in Scotland and we believe in small-scale, high-welfare farming that works in harmony with our environment and our community. We’ve always punched above our size in terms of academic connection and innovation, and Stuart has been recently honoured with an MBE for his services to sustainable development in Scottish aquaculture.
This ethos is continued through Stuart’s son Andy and wife Cate, who look to maintain a careful balance of a sustainable business, environmental stewardship and social responsibility, whilst producing a fish that we are proud to put our name to.
